PCGB R2 Summer Solstice Event 2026

MEMBER EVENT We have planned a real treat this year with a 2-day event packed itinerary to celebrate the summer solstice. Here is the proposed itinerary which may be subject to minor changes: Meeting at Stonehaven Leisure Centre car park for a 9:15am departure, we will drive the A92 coast road to meet up with the Inbetweeners at Longparke Farm Shop and cafe in Monifieth for a short break. Then it's across the Tay bridge and down the A92/A91 to Kinross for a light lunch at Kinross Golf Club. After lunch we will pick up the A91 again and pass throuh Tillycoultry, Dollar, Bridge of Allan and then from Blair Drummond pick up the A873/A81 through the Trossachs to reach the Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel and Spa outside Aberfoyle for our overnight stay and dinner, and hopefully watch the sun go down over Loch Ard and Ben Lomond. After a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning we head the short drive to Loch Katrine for a 2 hour cruise on the steamship Sir Water Scott. When we disembark back at Loch Katrine Pier at 12:30pm we will have a light lunch in the cafe. Then its time to head for home, where you can choose your own route or take a circular route through Pitlochry and on to Braemar and Deeside. We urgently need to confirm our hotel reservation, where we have 25 rooms on hold. The cost for the hotel including a £25 allowance per person towards dinner is £284 for double occupancy or £239 for single occupancy. Other costs which are payable on the day are £7.50 for lunch at Kinross Golf Club, £20.50 for the cruise and £7.95 for thelight lunch at Loch Katrine cafe afterwards.
