MEMBER EVENT This event to the Fairmont Clubhouse, St Andrews was suggested by Robin Provan and was enjoyed by members several years ago. There will be an optional group drive leaving from Stonehaven Leisure Centre car park at 9:30am, stopping at The Meadowbank Inn, Arbroath for morning coffee at 10:30am where we will meet up with the Inbetweeners. The run will continue The lunch venue is at The Clubhouse at The Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews. The Clubhouse is positioned on the cliff tops overlooking the North Sea and St Andrews. Lunch is booked for arrival at 12.30pm to be seated at 1pm. This should provide ample photographic opportunities as we have permission to park directly by The Clubhouse. For the SatNav: Coffee Stop - Brechin Castle Garden Centre, Haughmuir, Brechin, Angus DD9 6RL Tel 01356 626813 Lunch Stop -The Clubhouse at The Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews, Fife KY16 8PN Tel 01334 837000 Route: Turn left out of the Brechin Castle Garden Centre and head for the A935 towards Brechin. Follow the diversion through Brechin (in place 08/04/15) and take the A933 towards Dundee. Follow straight on the A933 past the crossroads sign posted Friockheim on the left and Forfar on the right. After about 1 mile driving uphill, take the right turn on to the B961 signposted Dundee. Follow the B961 and just after Newbigging bear to the right and continue to follow the B961 as far as you can to the Craigie Roundabout - (6 roads) Drive straight over onto Greendykes Road which leads to Broughty Ferry Road and then to the A92. Follow the signs through Dundee for The Tay Bridge. As you drive along the road near the harbour, keep in the right hand lane as this will take you over the Tay Bridge. Once over the bridge, take an immediate left turn on to the B945 signposted Tayport. This route will take a short detour along the coast and re-join the A914 at Carrick. Drive through Leuchars and then on the A941 (A91) to St Andrews. On reaching St Andrews, drive through the town and just after you have passed the Abbey Ruins, take a left turn on to Abbey Road at the mini roundabout. Follow the A917 out of St Andrews and slightly uphill passing a holiday park on your left. Follow the signs for the Fairmont Hotel, which is set back from the road on your left. Turn left through the entrance and drive through the complex, past the hotel on your right hand side and almost immediately you should see The Clubhouse further down towards the sea. Continue down the hill until you see a small lamp post in the middle of the road. Turn right and then almost immediately left up a very narrow road sign posted ‘Kittocks First Tee’. (Easily missed!) The road skirts round to the right of the clubhouse next to the first tee, where we have permission to park the cars.
