PCGB R19 Summer Lunch at Phyllis Court Club

MEMBER EVENT £49.00 Following on from a very successful event last year, we’ll be returning to Phyllis Court,: one of the finest Thameside private-members clubs, a mere one scull’s stroke from Henley Bridge. Up to 80 of us will have access to Phyllis Court’s impressive riverside ‘Pavilion’. Ours for the day, we’ll be able to enjoy its excellent buffet, bar, views of the Thames and tip-top service from staff. The grounds are beautifully kept and provide ample space to walk-off with your third helping of Black Forest Gateau, should you wish to stretch your legs for a post-prandial wander. For the more sedentary, the Pavilion boasts great views from its balcony where your gongoozling of riverside antics is limitless. Whilst Phyllis Court is a private members’ club founded way back in 1906 you won’t find much hint of Bertie Wooster or Jeeves’ stuffiness. Admittedly, if you’re planning to rock up in your favourite Iron Maiden tee-shirt and a pair of espadrilles you last wore creosoting the garden fence, then you may wish to reconsider and find smart-casual instead. The price for this riverside day out is £49.00 per head which, considering the quality of food, venue and service, is pretty good value. Your wine is extra but prices are contained. If driving back the same day doesn’t appeal, then why not stay overnight (at members’ rates) and enjoy the club’s full facilities? You can arrive from 10.00am with everyone needing to be parked in the reserved parking area on the lawn by 12.00. For earlier arrivals, coffee & tea will be available.
